Building On Faith 2018 - An Interfaith Partnership
    November 1, 2018
On October 20th, Habitat Greensboro raised the walls of the 5th house in our Building on Faith program.  We are honored to announce the interfaith partnership with Temple Emanuel, our local American Muslim community, and 17 Christian congregations working side-by-side.  When Jews, Muslims, and Christians work together in the name of our one God, God is honored - and our community is stronger. The day was dreary and rainy, but it did not dim the smiles of the family that beamed with pride, as members of many faith communities wrote their prayers and blessings on the walls.  Dr. Akir Khan wrote, "Even though we call God by different names, we are all working together as one Abrahamic family as we positively impact the lives of others pursuing the American dream." How life-changing this house will be for the family, and how transformational for our community!  Relationships are built across our differences as we celebrate how every person is made in the image of God.  Rabbi Fred Guttman said, "May this home we build keep alive the beauty of our faith heritages."
    Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast 2019
    February 28, 2019
Habitat for Humanity knows that safe, decent, and affordable shelter plays a critical a role in helping families create a new cycle - one filled with possibilities and progress. Affordable homeownership frees families and fosters the skills and confidence they need to invest in themselves and their communities - the outcomes can be long-lasting and life-changing. At Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro, we count on our volunteers to help us provide safe, decent affordable housing. Because they are such a vital part of who we are and what we do, each year, we recognize some of our most-dedicated volunteers with Habitat Greensboro awards. This year, we expressed appreciation for our volunteers by providing a catered breakfast for them at our West Gate City Restore.  A highlight of the event was the awards ceremony, where we recognized some of our most-dedicated volunteers and board members for their exemplary service to Habitat.   Joe Thompson, 2019 Award Recipient Gerard Davidson Lifetime Achievement Award     Bill Dowdy, 2019 Award Recipient Gerard Davidson Lifetime Achievement Award     Cookie Freese, 2019 Award Recipient Gerard Davidson Lifetime Achievement Award     Vidiazella McGhee, 2019 Award Recipient Volunteer of the Year Award     Bob Dissinger, 2019 Award Recipient Scott Fleming Spirit Award       Cheskesha Cunningham, 2019 Award Recipient Scott Fleming Spirit Award       Enjoy more pictures from the event below!
