The application process opens on Wednesday, February 01, 2023 and concludes on Friday, April 14, 2023. Scholarships are awarded to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro homeowners or their children for continuing education. The award winners will be announced no later than Friday, April 28, 2023.

Small Wonders started in December 2010 after a generous “seed money” donation from an individual donor. Small Wonders has provided funding for more than fifty (50) scholarships awarded to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro homeowners and dependents of homeowners. The Scholarship program provides an academic avenue for recipients attending occupational or trade/skill schools, two-year and four-year accredited post-secondary universities and/or colleges.

The Small Wonders Scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates innovative, initiative-driven leadership impacting their academic, work, volunteer service, and community environments. The top applicants will display a strong academic profile, several leadership qualities, awards, recognitions, and achievements. Awards are not based on financial need. Applicant must be accepted for enrollment at an accredited trade school, two-year or four-year post-secondary educational institution at the time of application. Applications will be available for pick-up beginning Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Habitat Greensboro ReStore located at 3826 W. Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407 (in the area across from the cash registers) or via our website at https://habitatgreensboro.org.

The Small Wonders Scholarship Program consists of four (4) types of awards: The Leadership Award (TLA), The Pathfinder Award (TPA), Homeowner Legacy Award (HLA) and the HHGG Integrity Grant. Scholarships are both merit and service based and awarded annually through the endowment fund. Awards are not automatically renewed. Applicants must reapply to the scholarship program each year. The recipient must be accepted for enrollment at an accredited institution at the time of application.

Recipients of Small Wonders must complete eight (8) hours of volunteer service with Habitat for Humanity prior to receiving the award.
