    2018 Community Impact Report

    As we celebrate our 32nd year, Habitat Greensboro has placed over 490 families into affordable homes in our community and 450 internationally, building homes, community and hope. We are awed by  every homeowner, the challenges they have overcome, and their resolve to have a safe place to raise their children. This past year brought amazing accomplishments for Habitat Greensboro outlined in this report.  We went from highs to lows as we celebrated the opening of the Housing Hub with Governor Roy Cooper  and then a month later devastated by an EF2 Tornado in East Greensboro.  Those two events helped solidify our relationships with other housing nonprofits in our community and brought us all closer together as we worked to assist homeowners and displaced families impacted by the many storms of 2018.     Women Build 2019

    Habitat Greensboro Women Build 2019 Blueprint for Success           Goal:                      Build a Habitat House Funded and Built by Women! Financial Goal:     $75,000   How To Get Involved?   Funding Make an individual gift.  Click here to GIVE NOW!     2019 Small Wonders Endowment Fund Scholarship Program

    The Small Wonders Endowment Fund Scholarship is awarded to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro homeowners or their children for continuing education. This scholarship may be used to pay for any workshops, courses or programs available through an accredited institution. The application period starts Monday, February 18, 2019 and ends Monday, April 15, 2019. To apply, applicants must submit the following: Application Packet 1 Official Transcript (High School or College/University) 2 Letters of Recommendation (non-family) Purpose Statement   Scholarships   The Leadership Award (TLA) Award Amount: up to $5,000 The Leadership Award is a merit based scholarship that recognizes a student who demonstrates innovative, initiative-driven leadership impacting their academic, work, volunteer service, and community environments. The award will be given to one applicant who displays a strong academic profile, several leadership qualities, as well as several awards and recognitions. The applicant must be a Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro homeowner or dependent of a homeowner. Awards are not based on financial need. Applicant must be accepted for enrollment at an accredited trade school, two-year or four-year postsecondary educational institution at the time of application.       The Pathfinder Award Award Amount: up to $4,000 The Pathfinder Award is an academic scholarship awarded to a Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro homeowner or dependent of a homeowner. The award will be given to one applicant who displays a strong academic profile as well as an extensive volunteer service path. Awards are not based on financial need. Applicant must be accepted for enrollment at an accredited vocational or trade school, two-year or four-year postsecondary educational institution at the time of application.       Homeowner Legacy Award (HLA) Award Amount: up to $3,000 The Homeowner Legacy Award is open to all Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro homeowners or dependents of a homeowner. Awards are not based on financial need. Applicant must be accepted for enrollment at an accredited trade school, two-year or four-year postsecondary educational institution at the time of application.       HHGG Integrity Grant Award Amount: up to $500 The HHGG Integrity Grant is an award not to exceed the cost of books and materials. To receive this award, the applicant must complete the Small Wonders Endowment Fund Scholarship Application. The applicant must be a Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro homeowner or dependent of a homeowner. Awards are not based on financial need. Applicants must be accepted for enrollment at an accredited trade school, two-year or four-year postsecondary educational institution at the time of application.     Download Small Wonders Application Packet Applications must be returned by mail or in person only. Scholarship winners will be announced no later than Friday, May 3, 2019.

Appliances: Ranges (tops and free standing) Washers/Dryers Water Heaters Refrigerators Range Hoods Microwave Ovens   Architectural Items: Columns, antiques, window, mantelpieces, etc.   Cabinets/Countertops: Individual pieces or full cabinet sets must be in tact with hardware. Doors and drawers must be together. Kitchen or bathroom must have all doors and drawers and be in stable condition.  Countertops must be in good condition with minimal chips or damage, or cut out.   Doors: Pre-hung or door slabs Exterior or interior without rot, cracks or missing panes Entryway units     Electronic Equipment (working): NO TELEVISION SETS NO CONSOLE TELEVISIONs Audio – receivers, speakers and CD players Computers and accessories, complete with Pentium I and higher Residential items only – No large donations of miscellaneous stock No commercial 220V fixtures   Flooring: Carpets - Area rugs and bound carpets in good to excellent condition with no visible wear tears, no stains and no animal smells Hardwood/parquet flooring – must be free of rot and in usable quantities Vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, linoleum – any quantities of new material If bringing loose pieces, flooring must be wrapped in bundles Ceramic tile   Furniture: Good condition – no rips, tears, stains, broken parts or animal smells   Hardware: Complete sets of door hardware, hinges, etc. Tools and automotive items   Lighting: Good looking and in working order No florescent or commercial lights (220V)   Lumber: Dimensional – 4 ft. lengths minimum of treated or non-treated Sheet goods – full sheets only of particleboard, pressboard, plywood, paneling, etc. Trim and molding – 4 ft. lengths or longer No sheetrock or drywall   Plumbing: Sinks – all types of kitchen and bathroom sinks (no rust).
