Dedications are always a joyous time at Habitat Greensboro as we celebrate the achievements of our partner families and the new beginnings in a safe, stable, and affordable home. On May 26, we were doubly joyous as we celebrated not one, but two, home dedications thanks to the support of our Building on Faith and Multi Sponsor partners.

Each year, Habitat Greensboro’s Building on Faith project brings to life Habitat’s mission of putting God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

While COVID prevented us from gathering together physically for this year’s build, the pooling of financial resources from various faith communities across Greensboro supported the construction of a new, affordable home for Abdelazeem and Amel and their four children, Dena, Mohamed, Albaz, and Alfaroog.

Having immigrated to the United States for freedom, educations, and to build a better life for their family, Abdelazeem and Amel are excited to start a new chapter of their lives in a quiet neighborhood where their children have space to play and where they have friends nearby.

Many thanks to our Building on Faith partners for sponsoring Abedlazeem and Amel’s home!

It is said that “many hands make work light.” That is certainly true when it comes to funding and building a home. Each Habitat Greensboro Multi Sponsor build brings many funding and volunteer partners together to build safety and stability for a partner family. As with this year’s Building on Faith project, COVID prevented us from gathering together physically for this year’s build. However, multiple partners still generous provided the funding to ensure that Ahmed and Amani, and their four children Mohamed, Saba, Mozan, and Samah, could realize their dream of homeownership.

Fleeing civil war in Sudan, the family started a new life here in the United States in 2017. They are excited to begin this next chapter of their lives in a beautiful, affordable home where they have friends nearby.

Many thanks to our Multi Sponsor partners for sponsoring Ahmed and Amani’s home!

Our Multi Sponsor partners include: ArchMI | BB&T Greensboro | CoreLogic | Enterprise Fleet Management | Estate of Rebekah Lee | Replacements, Ltd. | Summit Rotary | Multiple Generous Individual Donors
