2019 Community Impact Report
It was a very good year for affordable housing in Greensboro. Not only did we kick-off a home build for our 500th family’s journey to homeownership, but we also witnessed the strength of our community as we rebuilt from the devastation of the April 15, 2018, tornado. Our community truly rallied behind families like Yolanda and Kenley , who lost their home in the tornado. In partnership with the City of Greensboro’s Storm Recovery Alliance, Pella Windows, and Mt. Zion Baptist Church, their home was the first to be completely rebuilt after the tornado. Thanks to the generosity of community donors, and along with our GreensboroHousing Hub partners, the City of Greensboro, and East Greensboro Now, an additional 59 damaged homes were repaired this year.
