Partnership is one of Habitat Greensboro’s keys to success and few activities demonstrate partnership more than the Raising Roofs Builders Blitz which occurs every two years.

2019 marked our 9th Raising Roofs Builders Blitz in partnership with the Greensboro Builders Association. From October 26 – November 1, area builders donated their time and talent to construct four single-family homes for four single mothers and their children.

Each of the four Raising Roofs homeowners began this journey with a desire to create an opportunity for a better life for themselves and, more importantly, for their children. Thanks to the hard work and support of our local building community, these families can build a foundation for future success.

The finished homes are the first of seventeen homes to be built by Habitat Greensboro in White Oak Heights. When completed, these homes will provide families with the opportunity to build self-sufficiency through homeownership and break the cycle of poverty with which so many low-income families in our community struggle.

Since 2003, when the program began, area builders have completed 64 homes – helping families create the opportunity for a better life.
