Women Build 2021 showed how powerfully women can work to change their communities as seventeen teams of women and many generous Women Build sponsors joined together to fully fund and help build a home for Tamieka and her sons, Christian and Cameron. Thanks to these powerful women, Tamieka and her boys became proud homeowners on March 24.
Tamieka recently shared, “The boys and I look forward to a new chapter in our lives and filling our home with love. I feel such a sense of relief and security. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished.
Sitting on our front porch will be peaceful and serene. I’m looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the day. My next goals are to finish my degree at Guilford College in the next two years and push Christian and Cameron to excel in academics and baseball.
Working with Habitat has been awesome and has shown me I can accomplish my dreams and goals. My family has been blessed to experience this home buying process.”
When Tamieka applied for her partnership with Habitat Greensboro, she wanted to teach her boys the importance of goal setting. They are certainly learning from their mother’s example!
