New and Renovated Homes
Habitat Greensboro partners with corporations, faith organizations, foundations, individuals and volunteers to build affordable, energy-efficient houses for and with working families who meet ownership requirements. Families pay the full cost for Habitat houses and all future maintenance in addition to completing 250 hours of sweat equity working on their home, as well as working on homes of others in the program. Habitat Greensboro prepares homeowners for success with critical educational classes related to being a responsible homeowner.
In addition to helping hardworking families build and own new homes, Habitat Greensboro also renovates and upcycles Habitat homes that have been returned. In every project, we use green building techniques every step of the way.
Habitat Greensboro has been named a Home Innovation NGBS Green Partner of Excellence for 2014. Being one of only six Home Innovation’s green certification program residential home builders and the only Habitat affiliate to be recognized shows the commitment Habitat Greensboro has made to providing Habitat homeowners quality, affordable, energy efficient green built homes through third-party verification to the National Green Building Standard (NGBS).
