Women Build Home Dedication – January 8th at 10:00 a.m.
Thank you to the wonderful women of West Market Church, a United Methodist Congregation who joined us on Saturday, September 18th. This industrious group of women built and painted corbels that will adorn the porch of Tamieka’s future home!
The ladies of the Women’s Professional Forum, led by team leader Amy, joined us on Saturday, August 28th. This fun-loving and hard-working group of ladies also assisted on a neighboring build site, completing the framing for Adil and Bouchra’s future home! Many thanks to this team for bringing a smile to everyone with their can-do attitude!
The ladies from Muslims of the Triad, led by team leader Amina, joined us on Saturday, August 14th. While we are awaiting mechanical installation and the arrival of our siding for the Women Build site, this team helped install windows and doors on the neighboring build! Many thanks to this team for helping to ensure that everyone can have a safe, stable, and affordable home.
Team SBCG, led by Sherrill, joined us again on Wednesday, August 11th. This team powered through the heat to complete our Systems Vision insulation around the joints of the home, as well as lending a hand at the neighboring build to install windows!
The ladies of Alamance Presbyterian, led by team leader Mary Beth, joined us on Saturday, August 7th. This dauntless team braved the rain to power caulk and install windows and insulation. Thank you ladies, for helping to ensure that Tamieka and her children have a dry and secure home!
Team Sharrard McGee, led by team leader Pasty, helped to finish the construction of the interior walls on Thursday, July 29th. Next up, roof trusses and roofing will be installed before our next team joins us on site!
Kristi’s Krew, led by team leader Kristi and composed of volunteers from Mt. Pisgah UMC, began the construction of the interior walls on Saturday, July 24th. With these walls in place, the house is really beginning to take shape!
Our second build team, the Legal Ladies, joined us on-site on Saturday, July 17th. Made up of volunteers from our Foundation Sponsor Ward Black Law and joined by two members of the Muslims of the Triad team, these ladies raised the first walls on Tamieka’s home!
We welcomed our first build team, Team SBCG, on-site on Thursday, July 1st. Led by team leader Cheryl, this group of four spent the day building a strong foundation for Tamieka’s future home!
