Greensboro, NC: On Thursday, April 24, Habitat Greensboro was honored to celebrate a joyful milestone with future homeowner Chelsi and her family as they marked the completion of their new home and the beginning of a new chapter.

“Today is more than a home dedication. It’s a celebration of resilience, faith, and what’s possible when a community comes together,” shared Christine Byrd, Chief Development Officer at Habitat Greensboro. “This home represents hope, stability, and a future filled with new traditions and opportunities for Chelsi and her family.”

As with every Habitat Greensboro home dedication, the day began with an opening prayer. Tammy Melvin offered a moving blessing, praying, “We pray today for Chelsi and her family to be blessed by this new home and the memories it will bring.”

We are incredibly grateful to ArchMI, Brady Services, First Citizens, Habitat Greensboro Playhouse, and Publix Super Markets Charities for standing with Chelsi and with us to make homeownership a reality.

Ryan Castillo from Brady Services shared heartfelt words during the ceremony: “Chelsi, we hope this new home will bring peace of mind and comfort and security to your entire family.”

As Chelsi spoke, her gratitude was clear. “I want to thank God for this opportunity. It’s been a journey, and I’m so thankful for everybody who has been there every step of the way. I thank my heavenly father, family, and Habitat Greensboro for everything.”

The ceremony concluded with Habitat Greensboro’s traditional home blessing, followed by a tour of the home that will soon be filled with laughter, family dinners, and the joy of home.
