Raising Roofs

Raising Roofs is a partnership between the Greensboro Builders Association and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro that takes place every other year.

Through Raising Roofs, the Greensboro Builders Association has built 64 homes with Habitat Greensboro since 2003. The association puts hundreds of volunteer hours into Raising Roofs, generating donations and support and then building the homes. Builders, subcontractors and suppliers generously donate time and materials to make Raising Roofs a success.

Habitat Greensboro partners with the homeowner as they work toward owning their home by completing 250 hours of sweat equity working on their home, as well as working on homes of others in the program, as well as attending critical educational classes related to being a responsible homeowner. To date, 64 homeowners have a safe place to call home that supports a family’s health, education and financial well-being.
